Brief Answer:
You will need to do a visit to your local doctor to decide the next step.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Thank you for using HCM to post your question.

I read carefully your question and I understand your concern.

Glue ear is a name that is used for fluid accumulation in the middle ear, after blocking of the tube that connects the middle ear with the throat.

In most cases it clears without any treatment. An operation to clear the fluid and to insert ventilation tubes (grommets) may be advised if glue ear persists.

If you have tried for 3 years waiting, then I think the next best thing to do is to go again at the same doctors, so they can recheck the ear with an othoscope and see how much fluid is there, and if it can be few fluid, that surgery/ventilation tubes wont be needed, or there is still full of fluid and you will need surgery. So in other words, only a thorough examination would determine the next step.

Hope this is helpful.
Let me know if you need more clarification.

Regards,
