Hello doctor. I’ve been having a blocked nose for quite sometime now. It started as a common cold but now it seems to be something else. Anytime I’m eating my nose begins to run. The mucus that comes out is not the usual mucus but looks a litter darker and smells differently. When I’m not eating or moving my jaw I still have the same problem. Please help

Brief Answer:
Sinusitis treatment

Detailed Answer:

Hello,

I think you are having sinusitis. If your doctor perform you nasal endoscopy or a simple X-ray of sinuses it will show inflammation and physical obstruction.

I recommend you to:
* Use saline solutions to rinse nose or spry, to help blockage and wash away allergens and irritants
* Use nasal corticosteroids like Fluticonase or Budesonide to reduce inflammation

I don't think you need antibiotics or oral corticosteroids.
Keep yourself under observation.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
