Question : I have an old blood clot in my aorta and am wording if I should do anything and can it affect my leg and back?
Brief Answer:
It can
Detailed Answer:
Hi and welcome to HCm. I would need some more info about exact location of blood clot, presence of aneursima to give more detailed answer, but if there is verified clot in aorta then some complications are possible and it includes peripheral embolism of arteries including those in legs. It would manifest with acute pain, paleness and tingling in legs. Less common it can effect arteries that goes to spinal cord an din this case it would cause back pain. In every case, if there is no aneurisma then prognosi is very good. YOu ll need aspirine therapy and avoid risk factors such as smoking, obesity and high blood sugar. Wish you good health. Regards
