Suggest Treatment For Blood Filled Blisters In Pubic Area

default
Posted on Mon, 6 Apr 2015
Question: Hi, I am very concerned because I have a blood blister my my pubic area... It is painful because I thought at first it could be an ingrown hair so I tried popping it unsuccessfully. I read online that this sort of thing can happen from HPV?? Is it possible that it could be an STI?

This blood blister is located right on top of a stretch I got while pregnant on my pubic area. I heard you can get these from HPV?? i'm freaking out, is this possible??? I thought it may be a blood blister so I tried to pop it unsuccessfully, it just got swollen and no fluid came out. how do I get rid of this quickly?

Brief Answer:
Doubt this could be HPV ma'am, simple blister nothing else

Detailed Answer:
Hello ma'am and welcome.

Thank you for writing to us.

I have gone through your query with diligence and would like you to know that I am here to help. You have indeed conducted your research well ma'am, but as is always told, most of the information available online is incomplete and inadequately explained.

Genital HPV is more commonly seen with blisters in the region of the genitalia and not necessarily around the genitalia in the pubic region. From the image you have attached, I see that you have the blister almost exactly on the region of the striae (stretch mark), and this is very common. Blisters on stretch marks occur due to the friction caused and at times even the dry nature of the region.

I would not worry too much about this, and in my opinion I think that HPV is highly unlikely. I would although avoid bursting or popping any blisters, and just allow them to heal. Although, this could be a one time thing and I do not think you should see any more blisters.

Just allow it to heal, wear clean and comfortable clothing, do not compress or apply any pressure to the region. You could also apply a cold pack to the region and nothing else. In response to your concern ma'am, I do not think this is HPV, but if you want you could go about a blood investigation to rule out HPV, just for your satisfaction.

I hope you find my response helpful ma'am. Do not worry, this is not HPV in my opinion and you should just try your best to avoid stressing out. Please also feel free to write back to me for any further clarifications, I would be more than happy to help.

Best wishes.
