Question : how do you treat blood in stools?
Brief Answer:
Answer given below
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for using this service.
I am Dr.R.K and I am pleased to assist you.
There are many different causes for blood in stools.
The causes include hemorrhoids, fissures, polyps, colitis, diverticulosis and malignancy.
A colonoscopy may have to be done to find the cause. It is a test in which a long slender tube with a "camera" is introduced through the rear opening to look inside the bowel.
Blood loss lead to a drop in hemoglobin also. So you need to check your hemoglobin also.
Discuss with your doctor about these tests.
Regards,
Dr.R.K.
