Question: hi Thank you. Yes. I have blurred vision internittently in my right eye. My optician can find nothing wrong. 2y6m ago I bashed the supra optic nerve above the same eye and have numbness in a typically triangular section from eyebrow to crown. I wonder if I susgtained any damage to the optic nerve which is now manifesting. ??? I have recently been diagnosed prediabetic but this is a one-sided blurring. The area around and above the right eye is painful & pressured.

Brief Answer:
Optic nerve injury unlikely

Detailed Answer:
My dear,
Thanks for sending your query to us.

The chances of injuring the optic nerve are very remote as the nerve is very well protected by the body . The supra orbital region injury you mentioned is a relatively exposed area and injuries are more likely

The sugar levels always need attention and they can manifest with blurring on one side only.So they need constant attention.

Please do get back to me in case of any further query in this regard.

WOULD IT BE FEASIBLE THAT SUCH AN INJURY AS DEPICTED IN MY ATTACHED PHOTO COULD LEAD TO VISUAL PROBLEMS LATER? I WAS TOLD BY MAXILLO-FACIAL THAT IF SENSATION IN THE SUPRA-OPTIC AREA HAD NOT RETURNED WITHIN 2 YEARS IT WOULD NEVER DO SO..YET I AM AWARE OCCASIONALLY OF PULSING AND PAIN IN THE FOREHEAD, EXACTLY ABOVE WHERE THE NERVE IS TRAPPED. THIS RECENT BLURRING OF VISION SEEMS CENTRED ON ONE PART OF THE EYE ( THE TOP) AND THE PAIN IS AROUND, ABOVE & BEHIND THE EYE. I CANNOT PINPOINT ANY TRIGGER FOR WHEN IT OCCURS EXCEPT THAT IT IS MORE OBVIOUS IN THE EVENING WHEN RELAXED AND EITHER USING A COMPUTER, AS NOW, OR WATCHING TV. I HOPE THIS INFO IS USEFUL & AWAIT YOUR COMMENTS.
THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST.

My dear, Welcome back to HCM..
Thanks for getting back ..

This is a lot of injury and with such injuries there can always be nerve involvement .
Body regenerates and repairs and lot of defects recover.

The evening strain can always be helped by multi vitamin specially B complex vitamin supplements which you should take.

I am sure you are under good care and please do get back to me in case of any further query.
