You are currently experiencing swore throat and pain while swallowing. This sounds like a common viral illness and should gradually worsen before it will get better. Be prepared fro increased sore throat post nasal drip and nasal congestion. This illness may last from 3-7 days. To reduce the sore throat use salt water gargles and for the body aches acetaminophen.
Get plenty of rest and drink plenty of fluids. Stay home from work to prevent spreading to others.

                                    I had a rapid strep done that was negative.   the worst part is the body aches.  my throat is only sore on one side.

                                    I do have a low grade fever now this evening,  but took advil.  so body aches are not usually common with strep?.. correct?  thank you!

                                    OK, I had the bad body aches way before the fever.  it's not really a fever just low grade.
