Brief Answer:
Rule out adenoids, Add medication as below.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thank you for your query.

1. Check whether he has any adenoids hypertrophy. Get an X-rays and a diagnostic nasal endoscopy done.

2. Aspirin hypersensitivity is commonly seen with asthma.

3. Rule out exercise induced asthma.

4. If he has an acute infection, steroids should only be given under the cover of antibiotics and supportive medication.

5. The flu swab must be sent.

If you have any more questions I will be available to answer them.

Brief Answer:
Yes. Flu medication should start within 72 hrs.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thank you for writing back.

1. Yes, ideally the treatment for flu should start within 72 hours.

2. Treatment can be started if there is a strong suspicion and discontinued if the swab tests negative.

3. Severe symptoms such as high fever not responding to medication are seen with flu.

4. Flu vaccination is only specific for certain subtypes. New mutations of the flu virus make the previous vaccinations ineffective.

5. Many cases of flu recover well with rest and medication.

If you have any more questions I will be available to answer them.

Regards.
