Brief Answer:
Please find details below

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXXXXX
Thanks for writing in to us.

I have read through your query in detail.
Please find my observations below.

1. The boil on the face of your child might be due to scratching an area of insect bite. It can also occur from contamination of the skin.

2. Please maintain proper hygiene when touching your baby. Clip the nails of the baby short so that she does not harm herself due to scratching with her own nails. Any one touching the baby should have washed their hands.

3. Right now it is important to take the baby to a pediatrician for clinical examination and assessment of the boil. Small boils will resolve with a short course of antibiotics. Rarely a boil might require incision and drainage. Consulting a doctor immediately is important because in children an infection might spread quickly and cause complications.

Please feel free to correct any oversight in my interpretation of your problems and discuss them in detail as per your requirements.

Hope your query is answered.
Do write back if you have any doubts.

Regards,
Dr.Vivek
