Suggest Treatment For Boils On Body
Question: Hi Doctor,
My father is getting boils or ulcer like things on his whole body and from them watery substance is coming out. The affected area is getting dark.
Can you please let us know the cause?

Welcome to HCM.
I have read your query and understand the concern.
If they are Boils, then they occur commonly due to bacterial infection (mostly staphylococcus aureus) in a person with poor nutrition or poor hygiene or might be problems with the immune system or diabetes or obesity etc.
Boils are formed when oil ducts on the skin become clogged and infected.
Ulcers are completely different than boil but I will need to see the lesion before coming to any conclusion.
So,it would be helpful for me if you could send a clinical picture of that 'boils or ulcer like things',so that i can guide you better.

Thanks for sharing pictures.
I have carefully reviewed both the pictures one by one.
1st picture:
These small bumps like lesions over the palm should be examined further by dermatologist to rule out skin freckles or scabies or herpes or may be some thing else but very less chance of it to be small boils since it is difficult here to diagnose exactly with just a single look at the lesion particularly in this case.
2nd picture:
Dark or black skin of lower leg with mild edema may be indicative of either some surgical vascular pathology like peripheral vascular disease or venous ulcer or DVT or some skin pathology but it is also very difficult here to diagnose exactly without complete clinical examination of the affected area.
So,your father should see a surgical specialist at the earliest for his complete medical history,thoroughly clinical examination of his legs and some relevant investigations (routine blood works,ESR,kidney function tests,venous Doppler of affected leg).
In this case,the main treatment will depend on the particular diagnosis we made.

He had undergone bypass surgery. But this is spreading all over his body. Do we have to consult a dermatologist or some other specialist?
