I have a 55 days son, he was in ICU for 10 days since day 3 , he got blue and had low glucose and low breathing , seizures were noticed once and treated he was given ivgs for 3 days and antibiotics for 10 days , his CSF cytology was negative and his protein was 744 , he did a brain mri a week aho and result was bilateral occiptal cortical and subcortical areas of cystic encephalomalacia .
I want to know how to treat or to prevent softening to spread,, also what shalll it affect?

Cystic encephalomalacia usually occurs due to hypoxia induced brain injury either before, during or after delivery.
The prognosis depends upon area of involvement, associated deficits and cause.
Seizure are poor prognostic marker.
The treatment protocol should be due correct any electrolyte imbalance, hypoxia, hypoglycemia.
Seizures should be well controlled to prevent further damage.
