Question : So you are a medical specialist, to me that means you are not the average dr but one that excels in his specialty - pulminology.

In my day of discomfort I have questioned not your expertise but if I have somehow produced test results that cause you to report as you read them but in actuality I have an lung issue. I question the two issues that create other problems. I will try to explain clearer. I have spent years chest breathing, feeling my chest go up and down, expand and contract all while my stomach stays flat or if lying on my back the stomach sinks in. All of the sudden, a couple of years ago, my upper chest stopped operating that way and my stomach became the breathing area of my lungs

While my breathing became belly breathing, it started to run into issues with my stomach pressing and making breathing harder.

Use your expertise and tell me what is happening, is it aging, is it reflux along with inflammation.

Why does the local pulm say asthma, I am happy that you both say "no lung disease" but when things are confusing I get more stressed
Oh and when I try to unwind and rest but still feel breathless or uncomfotible that adds more stress

The local pulminologist sternly spoke to me in his office the other day. He commented about anxiety being an issue to me, asthma was an issue and to let it go, quit worrying, I am fine he said.
Ok after the stern talk I was able to block thoughts for enough time to believe I was fine. But that lasted two days and began again

I need a stern talk but I also need to understand fully why the sensations or physical issues hit me as they do. Why do you see good health and I feel like I have copd

Enough for now. No need to frustrate you anymore today

Stern talk is similar to what you are doing now. Stern is talking with force, with being tired of the silly nonsense that the person you are talking to hasn't listened to what you say so now you must be more direct with talking

I hear your words I trust your statement, when things go wrong or don't seem right I think somehow something was missed and it changes the diagnosis.

I do not know what messages are taking so long to go back and forth
The other thread is still open. It was over 10'hours or so before you replied. That was strange with the time

Brief Answer:
Yes this timing issues are worrisome.

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for your follow up question on Healthcare Magic.
Oh. Now I got your point about stern talks.
See I always want to talk straight things.
If you are having some disease then I will say on your face. Similarly when you are not having any disease (COPD) I must say straight that you are not having this.
So this is how I am. And I don't find anything wrong in it.
Do you like this thinking of mine?
And yes, timing things are worrisome for me also.

Brief Answer:
Stress causes GERD.

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for your follow up question on Healthcare Magic.
I can understand your concern.
About your chest movements here is my description.
When you are thin you can appreciate whole chest moving because there is less fat between your ribs and skin. And also there is less fat in abdomen.
Now you are overweight. So there will be more fat between ribs add skin. So rib movements is not easy to appreciate. Fat vibrates with movements and produce exaggerated movements. Same thing is happening with your belly. Excess belly fat gives exaggerated movements of belly.
Agreed?
About stress and reflux my explanation is this.
Stress us the known risk factor for GERD. Stress CA for cause laxity of gastroesophageal sphincter. Because of this the acid of the stomach tends to come up in the esophagus and cause symptoms of chest tightness, pressure, chest pain, stomach bloating, pain etc.
Agreed?

Well, lets see, i appreciate your answer, I guess I have some upper chest movement just not like it used to be. I also attribute less movement to the airways being constricted. Is this safe to say.

Lower belly movement is greatly moving up and down, but because of excess fat, it cannot drop as much as it did before..

I mentioned yesterday that I was going out shopping, I actually spent the time walking while others shopped. at times I would grab my phone to check emails. I leaned on a sales counter showcase. the counter top was right at my lowest rib. as I leaned on the case, it pressed in. as i tried to inhale, it refused to let lower expand and the upper did not hardly budge. is this normal. that is why i laid on floor last night to see what part of lungs i could get to move.

Yes this is normal thing. No need to worry for this.
Hey I saved your picture.
By looking at your face no one can assume that you are having large belly. Means you look fit and healthy on face. I want to see your chest and belly part. I asked this before but somehow it was not possible.
Can you send me now?

Forgive me, I forgot to send the pic, I will get it out tonight after work.
After that last text was sent by me, I wondered if that wasnt normal to have the upper not move.

When I get home tonight, I will see if i can not only get you a picture but a list of the issues that I fret on and what you and I can figure out how to get rid of it.

Did you see that I said you and I can figure out.

When you have GAD and you find one thing wrong, you find more. I am silly with this disease and I hope that when I go home this weekend, I get the job interview done. Then maybe I can get a job and move.

I am trying to use last nights stern text to keep me positive right now.

I have a little anxiety, I am doing ok, nothing special. If I can bring the thinking to be like last week on the day after the dr visit, I may have a great morning

Well that effect is mostly due to oval steroid.

Well i got some walking in. But the stepson was a complete annoyance, he was being and uncontrolled 10 year old.

He has the way to get under my skin with his behavior. I may be old fashioned but when I go to the mall, I am either looking or have a list of items that i need to buy. I do not go and hope to find something that I just have to buy. He thinks he needs to buy something and begs and begs until his mother gives in. In the old school, you earn money, you bring money and buy with your money, not your mothers.

All that begging along with the temper tantrums trigger a stress that I am looking to move away from.

So when I got home, I had some panic that was tightening up my body and is still with me this morning, I hope to have it gone when I leave work today.

I just wish that i was in sioux falls, because there after a rough day or weekend, I could jump into the hot tub and relax for a while then go find a quiet room in the house and meditate and become calm

I must find your stern reply or just do it again quick. then I can relax while working.

I am sorry for the stress I put you through to repeat. I am thankful to god that you are there for me.

And my dear friend, no need to thank.
Your words always make me happy and give mr satisfaction.
I am in this profession for this satisfaction only.
My school teacher used two say that 'live for lesser years but make sure that you help at least 1 person in a day, there is nothing satisfactory then giving smile to someone and by knowing that the reason for this smile is you'.
I followed him blindly and try too do this daily.
Some days I succeed, some days not. But it gives immense satisfaction.
Sorry for thus philosophy but want to share with you so much shared.
Anyways can't you say 'no' to your step son?
Or give him to your current wife too settle?
