Brief Answer:
accumulation of secretion, increased blood flow in lungs.

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Welcome
I have gone through your query.
In reclining position, there are some factors which can make breathing difficult and resulting your symptom. Factors such as accumulation of secretions in the airways (drainage from sinuses or postnasal drip), increased blood volume in the lungs, decreased lung volumes, and increased airway resistance, might be responsible. Breathing colder air at from an air‑conditioner may also cause loss of heat from the airways. Airway cooling and moisture loss might also be responsible. If you have GERD, that might be responsible.

Management includes, using humidifier in the room, treatment of GERD (if you have it), slightly raising headend, avoiding any triggering factors ( dust, air conditioner etc).

This provisional advice provided by me is based entirely on the input provided to me. I would suggest examination by the doctor.

I hope this suggestion might be of some help to you.
Take care.
