Suggest Treatment For Broken Toes

default
Posted on Tue, 16 May 2017
Question: I stubbed my left foot 20 minutes ago and my pinky toe is broken. I tapped it too the adjacent toe. The pain is minor and there is no swelling. I believe it's broken or dislocated due to the angle of the toe. Does this need to be treated professionally or can I deal with this at home?

Brief Answer:
Need to consult orthopedician.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for posting your query.
if the toe is broken and is at an angle it suggests that the broken fragments are displaced. This can lead to malunion and a persistent pain in the area after healing if not properly reduced. it is best to consult an orthopedician and get an X-ray done to see if the broken fragments are well aligned.
I hope this answers your query.

Thank you for your response. Being it's Saturday I doubt a physician is available. Can this wait until Monday or should I go to emergency?
