Question : I'm a 75 year old female with what appears to be bruising in the groin area, felt like pulling about 4 months ago and now bruising has appeared and never left.
Brief Answer:
Need to rule out muscle injury
Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for your query.
Bruising should have subsided by now. Since it is persisting, we need to rule out any lingering injury in muscle or other soft tissues. Also we need to rule out blood disorder like low platelets or abnormal coagulation parameters.
For this, I would recommend examination if the part by a doctor and ordering few simple blood tests and x-rays. If need be, MRI or CT scan of the area.
For time being, avoiding further strain to the area and cold packs may help.
Hope this helps.
