Suggest Treatment For Bruising On Knee And Difficulty Walking

Question: My previous injury he indicated it could be TKR. I had it checked It wasnt, but I am bruised from knee down and difficulty walking. It will be 3 weeks Sunday. It was a ruptured bakers cyst. How long does this take to heal?
Please see other questions concerning this. Also, the injured calf/ankle etc is about 2 inches difference in circum. due to swelling
I have been using antiinflammatories and ice and heat
I am sorry I typed TKR and I meant DVT. Anyway I had the ultrasound test and it was negative, but continued swelling bruising pain. Its been 3 weeks Sunday. How long will it last possibly. I am doing ice/heat antiinflammotires.

Brief Answer:
Can be due to internal knee injury.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for posting your query.
The swelling and bruising of the leg can be due to an internal injury of the knee that has caused internal bleeding. The bruise takes 2-3 weeks to clear away. Do take rest, use an elastic knee brace and get an MRI scan of the knee done to rule out any serious injuries.
I hope this answers your query.

They also did X-ray of knee said they didn't see anything abnormal. It's been almost 3 weeks guess it's going to take a while
Brief Answer:
MRI scan will help in proper diagnosis.
Detailed Answer:
Hello.
Thanks for writing again.
X-ray does not reveal an internal knee injury. An MRI scan is the best investigation for this purpose. Since the swelling and pain is persistent for 3 weeks, an internal injury is possible.
