Suggest Treatment For Bruising On Leg After An Accident

Question: hi, I got hurt while driving my bike. The skin on my right leg has got scratched and it is paining. There are 2 scratch spots on the leg. Upper layer has come off but it is not bleeding. pls advise which cream will be the best and if any other medicine should be taken.

Thanks for the query.

I have gone through your description and also the picture attached. I hope you got TT injection after the injury, if you have not got any in the past 5 yrs. In case you are not completely immunised with TT then I would advise you to see a doctor for complete immunisation. If you are immunised and have not got any TT booster dose recently then a single dose would be required.

Regarding the wound, you need to apply antibacterial cream like soframycin or silverex. Apply it twice a day and observe for improvements like closing of the wound and a black scab formation over the wound within a week. Keep the wound clean and dry.

Observe for any reddish discolouration, swelling or pus discharge from the wound. If any observed, would be better to see a doctor for evaluation and treatment.
