They are part of the immune system and respond as a result of inflammation or infection in a particular area.
The nodes in the neck would respond to any issues with the ears, nose , throat, face mainly.
It can take 4 to 6 weeks in some cases, for the nodes to return to normal size.

                                    What would cause it? I'm feeling sore around the back of my neck & especially on the right side , where the tender bump is. I don't have a fever at all...don't think it is a cold or sinusitis . I'm confused & anxious .. I will check with my primary dr, by the way.
