Question : sometimesEvery 6 wks - 2 months, I get a bump/bumps in the rectal genital area, with pain in one leg. It can be either leg, feels like a mild burn, can move. this time, it is the back of my thigh. Touch is uncomfortable. I can also be very emotional for a day(like having a period). I know that my husband had genital herpes, and we have been married 20 years. Could this be related? This has gone on for about 5 years, sometimes goes more than 6 wks, sometimes not at all for a few months.

                                    Brief Answer:
hemorrhoids or anal warts.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for choosing HCM.
Have noted all your details. The two most common causes are hemorrhoids and anal warts. As per your history your husband has genital warts,So yes it could be related to genital warts.
I would suggest you to consult a local general surgeon,He will use a anal Proctoscope to examine your anal and rectal area,A physical examination of the bump is essential as it could be Hemorrhoid also.
Only after local examination of the site its possible to say whether it is a wart or hemorrhoid,But a strong positive history of genital herpes drifts the diagnosis more towards genital herpes.
Advice
Consult a general surgeon.

Thanks
