Question : Hi. I have had this bump thing on my hip for a couple of years, and I was just wondering what it might be. It doesn't hurt or anything, and I don't think it has changed in size for as long as I can remember. I'm a runner, and I always associated this with my running. I can move it under the skin, but it feels a little firm. Again, the lump hasn't changed in size, and it is maybe 1-1.5 inches across on the skin below the thigh. Also, the skin hasn't seemed to change about it. It is the same color as the skin surrounding it, but I can feel the bump below.

I'm sorry, I forgot to add that it is on the outer thigh, not inner

Brief Answer:
Most probably a lipoma.

Detailed Answer:
Hi young ..
Thanks for your query and an elucidate description of the bump or the lump.

Painless, moving under the skin, skin above is normal, not changing the size.. . the most probable diagnosis is a lipoma.

Since you are a runner it would be advisable to get this confirmed once by getting examined by a Surgeon. You may go for ultrasonography and FNAC only if asked by Him.

I hope this answer helps you.
