Question : I have awakened about three times in the past week with a dry tongue. I drink some water to moisten it, but it currently feels sensitive and the tongue has a few bumps on it. What would cause it and what would help? I'm wondering if I've begun to sleep with my mouth open - maybe snoring?

I have read your query and medical history.

The cause of bumps are tongue bite or burn,allergy to food or drug,canker sore or may be oral thrush but it needs to be inspected to arrive at a certain conclusion.

So,it would be better if you can send me picture of the tongue.I will go through it and will give my opinion accordingly.
