Posted on Fri, 24 Apr 2015
Question: I have been having burning and urritation on my vaginal area i did a seab test and it was clear with just +1 pus cell.. The dr gave me canesten flocazol a V wash and some sort of honey that is inserted in the vagina.. Once i inserted the canesten tablet i felt major burning and pain in my abdominal area (before yesterday) but it got a bit better by time.. Yesterday i was still feeling the pain and burning so i went to the casualty dr and let him clean up all the tablet from inside of my vagina and told me that everything is normal and that i dont need to take any medication and even the canesten was not necessary.. Today i still feel the burn in my lower abdominal and there is some sort of white discharge during sex especially.. Will the burning go away? And could the discharge be just a PH imbalance ? Especially that my swab test says i have no infections

I understand your concerns about vaginal infection.

Please let me know few more details which will help me to answer your question:

1. Is there any smell. Only white crusty discharge or even smell ?

2. Did you have earlier episode like this ?

3. Have you been screened for STD recently ?

I havent had sex for two months.. I did all my tests everything is normal except for that +1 pus cell.. I did not have any white discharge before using the canesten all the symptoms started after using it.. The discharge is white-ish not all completely white and no smell.. Its just the external burning that i haf before and now the internal one after using the canesten

Brief Answer:
Allergic reaction

Detailed Answer:
Hi

What you have experienced is an allergic reaction to canesten (or honey if used with it).

This is the reason you felt burning internally with whitish discharge.

Some women are known to have allergic reaction to it like you did.

Hence please stop canesten and other prescription you have used. Don't take them again ever in life. Your body won't accept it.

As of now you wash vagina by sitz bath. Sit is a container of warm water containing antiseptic solution and some salt. This absorbs remaining medicine from vagina. Do it twice daily for next 3 days.

Let me know if you need any more help.

I have went to the dr the next day of using the canesten and told him to clean everytging up so i no longer have any of the medicine inside.. The discharge started the day after so i used gynial ovules to help balance the PH again.. Is that enough ?

Brief Answer:
Discharge is due to repair

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

The discharge is protection mechanism of vagina which is trying to repair the damage done. So its fine.

Gynial ovules should help. Sitz bath also helps and hastens recovery.
