Question : Hi. After coughing fit yesterday, due to my bad cold, I noticed a hot, burning sensation in my outer stomach area, which flares and causes this hot burning pain when I cough or bend over, exert myself. Kinda thinking I have some type of hernia. It doesn't appear to be bulging at this point. Do you think I need to see a doctor at this point? Or, should I take it easy and as long as I don't have nausea and vomiting, just hope it heals up on its own?
Brief Answer:
As long as there is no bulge outside unlikely to be Hernia
Detailed Answer:
Hello Thank you for posting your question on Health Care Magic.
The symptoms you are giving are most likely simple acute gastritis. If there would have been a hernia you would have noticed a bulge out on your abdomen. You can get examined by a surgeon and take an ultrasound to rule out an anatomical cause.
The burning sensation further confirms it. Please avoid spicy and oily food.Use more curds and curd products.
If severe you can also start on Zantac
Hope this helps
