Brief Answer:
protect joint, rest, ice therapy, elevation, medication

Detailed Answer:
Hi, thanks for using healthcare magic

Bursitis refers to inflammation of the bursa, humans have approximately 160 bursa

Treatment is usually conservative, to reduce inflammation. It can be guided by the acromyn PRICEMM:(1) P- protect- use paddings, braces etc

(2) R- rest- try to avoid any activities that cause pain

(3)I- ice- use ice therapy to reduce the inflammation in the area- apply a cold compress every 15 to 20 mins for the first 24 to 48 hours.
After this time , heat can be used.

(4)E- elevation- raise it above heart level

(5)M-medication such as ibuprofen, naproxen or diclofenac would help. Any of the these would be helpful. Should be used at maximum dose till improvement occurs

Some persons require steroid injections of the joint.

(6)M-modalities- this would require physiotherapy and consists of ultrasound, electrical stimulation

I hope this helps, feel free to ask any other questions
