Question : Yes, I had an SI fusion 3 weeks ago and developed calf pain about a week and a half ago. I am supposed to start putting weight on it and my hip joint feels great but my calf is getting increasingly more painful. I've also had a chronic low grade fever. Started worrying about a blood clot in the calf...but I know just enough to scare myself to death.

Brief Answer:
Thrombophlebitis suspected.

Detailed Answer:

Hello,

I think you should visit your doctor as soon as possible. I suspect there may be thrombophlebitis. It is inflammation and thrombosis in a superficial or deep vein. Surgical procedures may be the cause.

The doctor may do a doppler ultrasound and D-dimer study to verify it. Depending on the results, s/he may put you on blood thinners and monitor it.

Meanwhile, put hot compresses gently and elevate the limb.

Hope I have answered the question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
