Question : How do you fix corporal tunnel syndrome and what will happen if I wait to long to fix it?
Brief Answer:
if medical measures fail then surgery
Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for your query.
Carpal tunnel syndrome is caused by nerve compression at the wrist by excess tissues. We need to classify it into mild to moderate or severe, according to nerve conduction tests.
If mild to moderate, wrist splints, local steroid injection, etc are done. If not improving then surgical release of the compression is done. If severe, then directly surgery is indicated.
If you wait too long, then the major risk is permanent nerve damage resulting in weakness and wasting of thumb and index finger.
Hope this helps.
