may need to add a nasal spray, singulair or ketotifen if no response
Detailed Answer:
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic
Sore throat can occur most commonly due to infection or allergies (post nasal drip).
The fact that the symptoms are worse in the night and early morning would point to allergies as you likely know.
Using an antihistamine and decongestant as you are doing is recommended, you can consider using a combination such as allegra D (has both the allegra and the decongestant in one tablet) or claritine d, zyrtec d or benadryl d.
In addition to this combination of medication, the use of a topical steroid nasal spray such as nasonex, flonase or rhinocort may help.
A prescription may be needed to get one of these but you can ask your pharmacist
If you still experience symptoms then singulair or ketotifen, which work differently to treat allergies, may need to be added.
I hope this helps, feel free to ask any other questions
