Question : I have COPD so I've had a certain amount of discomfort in my chest for a while now. Lately I've been able to feel my heart in a way I haven't sensed before, like I can feel it working. I don't have any dizziness or lightheadedness but I have a feeling of dread when I lie down that I can't explain and sometimes I have a sharp pain in my left armpit. How alarmed should I be?
Brief Answer:
Your symptoms are not worrisome.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Your symptoms are not worrisome. In view of COPD, I would suggest you to get cardiac evaluation done as well.EKG, 2d echo and if possible stress test can be undertaken.
This will not only relieve your concern but also get a baseline cardiac evaluation done.
Hope this helps. Please ask if there are doubts.Regards.
