Suggest Treatment For Chest Pain After Total Hysterectomy

default
Posted on Mon, 11 May 2015
Question: I am 45, and I had total hysterectomy last year. I have been on the Vivelle- Dot patch and have done well on it. I started having pain when I inhale deeply, and my dr. suggested that I stop the patch immediately to see if it goes away.. While I want the chest pain to go away, I am terrified to be off HRT, after reading about it. Are there any other alternatives?

Brief Answer:
Please stop HRT now

Detailed Answer:
Hi

I understand your concerns about being off HRT.

Your doctor is probably trying to check if these symptoms are due to HRT. Stop it now.

You can continue it later after finding reason behind the chest pain. HRT can cause blood clot formation and hence chest pain. Your doctor is probably thinking in that direction.

Even alternatives are not advisable at this stage.

It is better to stop as now as per doctor's advice.

Let me know if you need any more help.

Dr. Soumya
