Question : Had a stent put in 10/14, had chest pains this morning, pain went away with nitro pill, my chest feels like it has been bruised from the chest pains. Should I be worried?
Brief Answer:
YES
Detailed Answer:
cannot advise, diagnose or treat without actually being there.
Characteristics of chest pain that make it scary:
first, context. those with a history of heart disease have about a 10%/year risk of another episode... others... 10 to 100 fold lower risk.
second, no other clear cause
third.. which gets the most press in the textbook but really is third, is the characteristics of the pain... not like a knife and relief with nitro strongly implies DUE TO SERiOUS HEART PROBLEM.
that's just general info.
