Suggest Treatment For Chest Pain

?? Suspecting non-cardiac chest pain; still suggest EKG
Detailed Answer:
Hello sir and welcome.
Thank you for writing to us.
I have gone through your query with diligence and would like you to know that I am here to help. As your blood pressure and pulse seems normal or within normal range, I doubt this is cardiac pain, and is most probably non-cardiac chest pain, but I do not like taking any chances with any of my patients and I would recommend an EKG(ECG) just to be on the safer side.
There are two types of chest pains sir, cardiac chest pain is directly related to some cardiac condition causing the pain. Whereas, non-cardiac chest pain is related to other conditions that can mimic chest pain like gastritis, abdominal bloating, peptic ulcer disease, stomach ulcers, hyperacidity, overeating, etc.
Please do try to get an EKG done, but until you can report to a doctor or a clinic for now try to drink plenty of water and take an antacid like ranitidine, omeprazole, pantorpazole, syrup or chewable tablets of Gaviscon or other such equivalents. If it is non-cardiac chest pain, you should find relief at the earliest. Please do not smoke, drink alcohol, avoid stress, drink plenty of water, do not drink any hot beverages, eat oily/fatty/spicy or fatty food in the meantime.
I hope you find my response both helpful and informative. Please feel free to write back to me for any further clarifications, I am always here to help.
Best wishes.

I am controlling my breathing and never had these pains before last night...

but I am not sure about walking around....what should I try to do that would help me, without taking to much of a chance..... I take care of my 90 year old parents that live with me and don't want to make them nervous....Thanks....XXXX
Try an antacid and plenty of water right now sir
Detailed Answer:
Hello once again XXXX
A safe pulse rate is between 60 and 100 beats per minute.
As mentioned in my previous response sir, try using an antacids right now and drink plenty of water. Wait for about an hour, and if you do not experience an improvement and the pain continues or increases then please do not think twice before reporting to a doctor for an EKG.
Why to take a chance sir, don't you think so? But try the antacid and plenty of water and wait for an hour, if there is no improvement then I urge you to visit a doctor or clinic for an EKG, you can tell your parents you are stepping out in regards to work or you need some groceries or milk or ice cream.
Best of luck and best wishes sir.
