Question: I have chronic arthritis resulting in pinched nerves in both feet. However my right foot is very swollen.
A poditatris recommended inserts which I have tried. But my arches are starting to collapse inward and are extremely painful. I have diabetes as well and neuropathy. Anything else I can do?

Brief Answer:
You can try steroid injection or surgery

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
I have studied your case.Pain in the feet with collapsed arch is common problem. It is more problematic when associated with neuropathy. I have following suggestions for you.
1.You can get steroid injection at most painful points if your sugar is under control. It can take care of inflammation and pain and it will give you good pain relief.
2.If there is arthritis in the feet then surgical option like fusion of joint or debridement through arthroscopy can also be tried.
3.You need to make sure that your blood sugar is with in normal limit and there is normal B12 level in blood. As low B12 can cause neuropathy and increase in pain sensations.
I hope these two steps will be helpful for you.Let me know if there is any other followup questions.
thanks
