Suggest Treatment For Chronic Constipation With Low Back Pain

default
Posted on Fri, 19 Sep 2014
Question: I have been constipated for over a week. I've gone to the ER with SEVERE stomach pain and they said I have a narrowing in my large intestines and sent me home to take MiraLax, Dulcolax. Went to the bathroom about 4 days ago and nothing since. I may mention I have chronic low back pain and Lupus, which I take Percocet for. I've changed my diet to include tons of fruits and veggies! Tried an enema, the above suggestions and I ended up sweaty, nauseous and miserable. Help?!?

Brief Answer:
Take Laxopeg powder and manual evacuation

Detailed Answer:
Hi.

With your history of surgery that could be the reason for the constipation. I can suggest that you try Laxopeg sachets at night with water they have known to be strong enough to clear stools well. If it does not help you can try manual evacuation which helps if the stool is very hard.

If both fail then you should consult your Doctor for an early Colonscopy and proceed which can diagnose the problem as well as help in removal. If all else fails then the last resort will be surgery that is when there is Intestinal obstruction. You should ask your GP to rule out any mechanical obstruction with X-Rays of the abdomen and other such investigations.

Do let me know if I can be of anymore help. Take care.
