Hello! Thanks for putting your query in HCM. I am a Gastroenterologist. I hope I have answered your query and this will help you . Wish you a good health

Best solution to chronic constipation is to take lots of fibres and fluids in your diet. I mean to say lots of fruits and vegetables. Other food items that have high fibre content are oats, whole wheat , ragi, barley, greens, beans, peas, lentils.

Among medicines I will advise you to take Lactifibre which is the combination of lactitol and Isabghola, which are quite safe even for long term use. Take 15gms/ day with a glass of water at night time.

Also take polyethyleneglycol powder, start with 15gm/ day and titrate the dose as per the response. This combination of medicine I found very useful in my patients with constipation

For anal fissure:

1.Take lots of fruits and vegetables to increase fibre to make stool bulky
2. Add ointment containing nitroglycerine which will help in relaxation of anal sphincter which will relieve pain and fasten the healing. To be used before passing stool
3. Lox ointment for relieving should be used 4 to 5 times per day

I hope I have answered your query and this will help you . Wish you a good health
