Suggest Treatment For Chronic Constipation

Question: I have not a regular bowel moment for 8 days. It started with diarrhea the first day and every day sense i really haven't had a real BM but just very small strange looking droppings that look like undigested food kind of bound together and sluff like. I suspect it could be because of one of two things or maybe both. About a month ago I started masturbating anal with a dildo. I am 48 and have never been able to find my prostate so I started doing that and have been at it almost daily. The other thing that is different in my life is that my brother /best friend has stage four cirrhosis of the liver and I took him to the hospital 3 weeks ago he was almost dead. And several other family crisis at the same time. Plus I have a couple hundred employees and so much stress right now. Do you think one of these issues could cause IBS? I say he has stage four bot the dr did not tell us this I researched it. He hasd a belly like a water ballon that is acsites, edema badly swollen ankles, varices of esophagus (that was banded) , Jaundice, and all the other symptoms. Would you say this is consistent with last stage of cirrhosis and if so if he does everything the doctors tell him to and maintains abstinence how long do you think he has?

You not have IBS. Prognosis is not good for level-3 cirrhosis.

I can understand your concern towards your best friend's health
1) Staging of cirrhosis is depend on few parameters; Bilirubin, protein, blood coagulation profile, amount of fluid in belly, level of disorientation.
2) Maximum total score would be 15. Any score more than 10 is considered as level-3 cirrhosis.
3) With complete abstinence from alcohol, proper medical care - one-year and two-year survival for level-3 cirrhosis patient is 45% and 35% respectively.
4) About your symptoms - No they are not related to IBS. Irregular bowel movement with hard stool containing undigested food particles like consistency suggest possibility of chronic constipation.
5) You should use stool softener regularly to avoid this problem.

is there a level 4 cirrhosis? Does ascites happen during the early stages 1 or 2? Its my brother I referred to him as my best friend. His belly has been huge for 18 months he also has had horrific bowel problems for that same time period. He told me that the GI Dr told him it was a parasite but of course he is an addict and habitual liar. The bands that they put on him to stop the varices are going to be replaced or added to next week. What is the most likely end of life the varices or ascites.

I have been on antibiotics trying to get rid of strep. TRhe strep returnrd so I have been on them for a few weeks now. Could this cause my bowel problems?

Varices is more serious than ascites.

Hello,
1) Cirrhosis has three levels (stages) A, B and C. Level C is worst one with score of more than 10.
2) Ascites generally start to appear from stage B and will be increased in stage-C.
3) Varices in esophagus is more life-threatening than ascites.
