Suggest Treatment For Chronic Cough And Nasal Congestion

default
Posted on Tue, 8 Nov 2016
Question: I have coughing spasms. This has been going on for about 3 weeks. I have tried several home remedies plus Alegra and Delsym. Nothing makes any improvement. I don't have fever, some nasal congestion, my mucus (what little there is) is clear.

Brief Answer:
Supportive care

Detailed Answer:
Thank you for asking

I read your question and i understand your concern. Chronic cough with no fever, slight nasal congestion and not responding completely to home remedies must be evaluated for primary cause. With congestion, i would its same post nasal drip causing and triggering it. A very probable suspicion of acid reflux needs to be ruled out. You need thorough examination and work up for respiratory tract to rule out any sinuses involvement, upper respiratory tract infections, acid reflux , sore throat, post nasal drip and sinusitis as cause and then treat that accordingly. Rest continue these home remedies. Salt water gargles, garlic water gargles, warm comforting beverages and supportive care.

I hope it helps. Take good care of yourself and dont forget to close the discussion please.
