Question : Mother has chronic loose motions since 1970. She was given cobalt therapy for her cervical cancer and is a survivor. Dr removed her right lymphnodes resulting in severe edema. what medicine csn be given to stop loose motions for at least 3 hours? Enough to take a plane ride. She had a prescription "pera"something... Worked a miracle and she was able to regain strength and build up fiber and intestinal flora.

Hello dear. I have gone through the details. Well diarrhea is a common issue for many survivors after cervical cancer. If she is not febrile, then she can safely take a single time antimotility drugs like loperamide or immodium along with anti secretory drugs like racecadrotil. Hope it helps.
