Suggest Treatment For Chronic Fatigue Syndrome

Question: hi Dr. Mendiratta, you probably never received my Aug 4 message or you might have responded. The nurse practitioner is no longer working for Dr. XXXXXXX my psychiatrist who ordered the genetic testing and has never come back to read the results. The nurse practitioner, however, put them in his hands three weeks ago and he said that he would talk to me. He hasn't yet. He is the expert with it. Those tests cost $6,000. I've been living a nightmare and will look for a new rheumatologist. Can you believe what is happening to me? I hope that your wife and daughter are fine. XXXXXXX

Sorry for delay

Detailed Answer:
Good evening XXXXXXX

I am not sure what happened the last time. I had replied to you a bit late, as i thought you had consult your nurse by then..But I am not sure why the message didnt get delivered to you. Sorry about that

This is pretty bad I must say...You should launch a complaint and get him to consult you at least..This is a basic nature to at least revert back once the tests are done...6000 dollars??U serious...That is like my 2 months salary...

All said and done, someone has to be answerable for the test performed and what is to be done next. If he s an expert, one appointment he can spare...

You can seek a new rheumatologist, I am not sure how long that it is gonna be for that till we seek a treatment for you

Yeah they are fine..Thanx for asking...Daughter is growing up..Her first bday is coming soon..SO looking forward celebrating it

Keep in touch..LEt me know the new developments

hi Dr. Mendiratta, Dr. XXXXXXX the psychiatrist, as you know is the one who ordered my gene testing but hasn't been around for 3 or 4 months. The person who manages the place where I live is his COUSIN. He texted him and asked him about me. He's coming to see me at the outpatient hospital next week. It's a shame but maybe at times you have to have a connection. It shouldn't have to be that way but at least I will see him. Depending on the visit will determine whether I need to see a rheumatologist. I can't imagine what Dr. XXXXXXX will tell me. Have a nice weekend. XXXXXXX

Detailed Answer:
Good evening XXXXXXX

Well, yes it is a bit weird that you have to seek a connection to get in touch with the doctor who ordered your blood test..Dont understand how someone is sooo busy...TO even see a patient.

Well, I would still say dont keep too much hopes with him..Doesnt seem like someone who is really keen in handling your case.. But never the less, he should be answerable for the test carried out...Well lets just wait and see the reply

Thanks a lot XXXXXXX

You too have a great weekend...Have a beer or something and chill out

hi Dr. Mendiratta, if I wasn't a type 1 diabetic I'd have more than one drink! Seriously, I've been feeling so bad for so long that I have no hope in anyone or anything. I can't imagine what it's like to feel normal or good. I cannot live much more of my life like this. I need some hope. I need somebody to do something soon. My first step is Dr. XXXXXXX and the time is this week. I will tell him that I've almost lost hope to feel better. XXXXXXX

Sorry to write again, Dr. Mendiratta, but would you tell me again what you think is the matter with me and do you think I will ever get better? XXXXXXX

Detailed Answer:
Good evening XXXXXXX

Sorry for the late reply. Had my birthday over the weekend..So was out with family

Well, as of now my diagnosis still holds on to Chronic Fatigue syndrome since we have already run through so many scans of yours and ruled out any other serious pathology like a Malignancy or inflammatory disease. With the diagnosis of exclusion, this would be my diagnosis.

It does get better..medicines do help in breaking the whole viscous circle and then the rest is your own motivation which you have already.

I hope the meeting with Dr XXXXXXX yields some fruitful results...

Sorry for late reply again

sorry, Dr. Mendiratta, but my computer was not connecting to the network. Here's a late happy birthday. I saw Dr. XXXXXXX on Monday. He looked at the first couple of pages of my genetic testing and mentioned neurotransmitter problems. He started me on rexulti and deplin that increases neurotransmitters in the brain. He wants to see me in 2 weeks (if he comes back). It is hard to be optimistic that anything is going to help since I've felt so bad for so long. Should I go with Dr. XXXXXXX for now and not worry about another doctor? I need to be patient but it's so hard. When I asked you what was wrong with me I meant what part of my body is messed up? my nervous system? my brain? what cycle? XXXXXXX

Brief Answer:
New Medications

Detailed Answer:
Good evening XXXXXXX

Well, thanx for the wishes

The basic pathology behind chronic fatigue syndrome is neurotransmitters only. Somewhere they dont reach the brain adequately to cause the needed stimulation. That is one reason, you dont find anything on any scans or blood tests.

Well, I would say wait for a while since he started you on new medicines. Most of them take 2-3 weeks to begin action. So , no point of changing to another doctor as of now. Lets wait and see if these work and you feel at least 20-30 % improvement with it. ( I dont expect more than this in the next 2 weeks).

Lets be positive and hope it clicks this time

hi Dr. Mendiratta, and thank you for mentioning neurotransmitters. Deplin, which is similar to vitamin B9, will have to come by mail order. Since I'm lacking neurotransmitters in the brain, I must be at rock bottom. Since I need to wait 2-3 weeks and since I need to get my computer fixed, I won't write again for a while. I just needed some action to be taken and it's finally here. XXXXXXX
