Suggest Treatment For Chronic Internal Hemorrhoids

default
Posted on Mon, 28 Nov 2016
Question: I believe I have internal chronic hemorrhoids which prolapse and require manual reduction. The size has remained the same over the past years and the severity has not gotten any worse. Can you confirm that the attached photo is in fact internal hemorrhoids (prior to reduction)? If so, do they need to be treated, or is it something to leave alone and hope that one day goes away (it has not yet ever).

When they are not prolapsed, everything looks normal.

Thank you!

Detailed Answer:
Hi and thank you for asking on HCM!
I review your photo and I can say that you have external hemorroides plus prolaps. I can't judge about internal hemorrhoids since I can't do digital exam.
With regards to treatment, I suggest to treat them by surgery only if you have blood in stools.
You can use preparation H during thi stime if you are not having blood in stools.

If you are say that if you prolapse them everything is normal than I can say that yes it is a sign of internal hemorrhoids. Otheriwise sigmoidoscopy will better determine it.
If you have other concerns I would be glad to assist you.
