Question: I am a breast cancer survivor since 2004, however, now I have been suffering from chronic pain throughout my body. The pain seem to be generating from my bones. It's feel like a constant fire is burning. It is debilitating at times, and I feel I have no quality of life. Unable to enjoy anything because of the pain, throbing and burning. I don't feel that Fibromalgia is the culprit because to touch my body, it doesn't hurt, the pain is coming from the inside. I have been to several doctors but they are unable to provide me with an answerThey tell me to see a shrink or give me more meds for pain. I have to take 2 Tramadol every 4 hours to be able to make it through most fo a day. Fatigue results because of fighting the pain. Is there anyway this might be Bone Cancer????? PLEASE HELP ME GET MY LIFE BACK..... XXXXXXX

Brief Answer:
There is indeed a possibility of cancer having spread to bones.

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for asking on HealthcareMagic.

I have gone carefully through the details provided and understand your concerns. What I do not know is what the stage was when the breast cancer was operated upon and whether any spread had already occurred by then. Unless the intervention was at a very early stage, there are chances that some spread had already occurred by then. If distant metastasis occurs, bones are a key organ to be affected. In case of metastasis, the result would be bone cancer. I would suggest you to undergo an isotope bone scan done to evaluate for metastasis which could be the source of your pain.

As of now continue tramadol. Also apply hot compress. You may let me know the reports of the bone scan so that I can guide you accordingly.

Regards
