Suggest Treatment For Chronic Sinusitis

Posted on Tue, 13 Jan 2015
Question: I have been randomly spitting out a few spits that were pink in the last year. It happens a few times a month and mostly in the morning I guess it's tinged with blood. I do have chronic sinuses. Could this be cancer?

Brief Answer:
At your age, NO!

Detailed Answer:
Hi and thanks for using HCM.

I am so sorry to hear about the spitting and all the disturbing thoughts this has caused. This should be most likely related to the chronic sinusitis and not cancer. At your age, this is very unlikely. Cancer of the throat is more common in elderly smokers and not very young adults like you. If your symptoms are not well controlled, please see an ENT specialist to help you get them well controlled. What medications do you take?

I hope this helps. If you need more information, please do not hesitate to ask more questions and we would gladly address them.

I am on no medications. I had blood work 6 montgs ago and everything was fine. Some mornings I wake up and spit and it's pink and sometimes I'll just randomly spit and it's pink. No symptoms at all

Brief Answer:
Is pink likened to blood?

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

I hope this pink in no way means blood. If possible, take a picture and send for review. Thanks.

Not cancer though right

Answered by Dr. Ivo Ditah (1 minute later)
Brief Answer:
Not cancer, at this age and absent risk factors or symptoms!

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

There are really little chances of being a cancer at this time. I will rather think of a possible chronic allergy that needs to be well managed. You lack all the orients towards a possible cancer.

I wish you well.
