Question : i have chronic tonsillitis and whenever my tonsils become swollen i get these awful sores on my face that are more severe than any acne i have ever had before. Is this actually related as it seems, and if i have my tonsils taken out would the sores stop?

Brief Answer:
Soreness in the face could be stress related...

Detailed Answer:
Hi

Thanks for posting the query. I'll try my best to help you with this problem.

The soreness in the face could be related to the stress undergone during the attacks of tonsillitis. Just like in acne, the sebum secretions do get altered because of the hormonal variations during the periods of stress. The altered production of sebum with blockage of the sweat pores causes soreness in the face.

If you feel, you are noticing the soreness only during attacks of tonsillitis and not during any other stress related issues, then it would be wiser to get it removed.

Meanwhile, drink plenty of warm water, follow all the precautionary measures to tackle repeated throat infections, you will definitely feel better.

Hope I have answered your query; I'll be available for the follow up queries.
