Question : hi I am a 47 yr old male I went to my doctor today for a urine test because I noticed that my urine was cloudy I have no problem going to the bathroom my urine stream seems to be okay.. but anyway she told me that I have a infection in my prostate and is giving me medicine called ciprofloxacn. for three weeks is this possible that this could be prostate cancer
Brief Answer:
not prostate cancer
Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for the query
From the history you have given it looks like you are suffering from urinary tract infection which is easily treatable with antibiotics. Prostate cancer patients will typically have difficulty in passing urine, blood stained urine and also flank pain.
I have the following suggestions for you
1. Get a urine culture and urine routine test to know which organism is growing
2. Get an ultrasound abdomen to rule out kidney stones. This is a common cause for uti.
3. drink Atleast 8 glasses of water with frequent voiding of urine
I hope I was of help, if you have any further queries please get back to me
Regards

Detailed Answer:
Hello
I am sorry if I used medical terminology not familiar to you.
1. Flank pain means pain the in the sides of the lower back where the kidneys are present.
2. Whenever there is an infection, different organisms can be involved. By doing a culture, one can know which organism is involved and treat accordingly with appropriate antibiotics
