Suggest Treatment For Cluster Of Whiteheads On Penis Shaft

default
Posted on Sat, 8 Aug 2015
Question: I have a small cluster of whiteheads on the shaft of my penis. It's been there for about 2 months, and I think it's slowly getting larger. I went to a doctor before they got larger, and she told me they are papules, but since then they've been getting bigger. I have had numerous sexual partners, most times I used a condom for vaginal sex but not oral. They are painless and look like a cluster of small pimples on the shaft of my penis. I can provide a picture if that helps.

Hi and thank you so much for this query.

I am so sorry to hear about this cluster of whiteheads on your penis. The penis is a very sensitive part of the human body and I certainly understand your concerns.

Also, I should mention that i regularly shave my shaft with an electric grooming razor. I think hair did grow in that area prior to the bumps. I look forward to your response.

Brief Answer:
Are they around the entire penis or located just to this spot?

Detailed Answer:
Hi and thanks for the images. I have reviewed all of them.

Pearly penile papules are normally arranged around the entire head of the penis. This seems to be located to a specific area and not the typical look of pearly penile papules. However, this may be a variant of it.

The fact that you have been shaving this area may be another possible cause of it. Whenever we shave, there is irritation and the skin responds with an inflammatory reaction. I will recommend you stop doing so as this could be one of the provoking and aggravating factors.

Because there are no symptoms at this time, observing will be all. Follow up with me in 2-3weeks and let me see how it i going. Be calm and relaxed and know that when it comes to treatment, we have options to take off the small papules if need be. But for now, we need to observe only, gather the necessary information and treat accordingly.

I hope this helps. I wish you well. Keep me updated.

Hey doctor sorry for the late response, I wanted to give it a few days and see if anything happened, as i have only 3 days to ask my last follow up questions. To answer yours, yes this is the only noticable cluster on my shaft. It looks largely the same as it did a few days ago, and I was able to tweeze off a few white parts on the biggest one. Not sure if it was puss or skin, but they are painless. Given my circumstances, what is your best guess as to what it is? I'm guessing if it does happen to be an STD, perhaps HPV? But it looks nothing like pictures I've come accross. Hoping that it's simply irritation from shaving too much down there. Anyway,I have a doctors appointment next week and I'm hoping i get a diagnosis soon. Attached is a current picture, hope it helps.

Brief Answer:
Probably irritation from shaving!

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

This is probably caused by irritation from shaving. I have reviewed the information fully and the added images and it is in no way suggestive of a an STD or HPV related information.

Let me knows what transpires after your doctor's appointment. I wish you well and do have a relaxed mind. Avoid repetitive shaving and all will soon return to normal.
