Brief Answer: Cough syrup and DHA dosages Detailed Answer: Hello, Thanks a lot for choosing Healthcaremagic for getting an appropriate answer and I am trying to give you the best of guidances here. It is not that easy to diagnose the cough of your child from here without examining him or her. In this 6 months of age groups your child may be suffering from bronchiolitis or viral respiratory tract infections associated with wheezing. So I would like to know the following queries from you- 1. Is the child a frequent wheezer? 2. Is there watering from nose and eyes? 3. Is there any sputum production associated with cough? 4. Is there any family history of asthma? Before prescribing cough syrup I need to know all these points> The best sources of omega-3 fatty acids are oily fish, some seeds and nuts, and vegetable oils. These include: Oily fish, Seeds and nuts, Walnuts, Pumpkin seeds, Vegetable oils, Canola oil etc. As per various studies Your child needs DHA around 150-200 mg daily according to the body weight once daily. The brands commonly available in India are Cadvion, Celadrin, Harty, Maxepa. But it is better to consult your pediatrician for the actual indication and dosing for your baby. Any multivitamin capsule you can have without a deleterious effect on your baby. I am looking forward to an early reply from your side and also if you have further queries you can write back to me. Thank you, Regards, Dr Arnab Maji

Brief Answer: Vitabiotics Wellkid Baby & Infant Detailed Answer: Thank you for writing back to me. Well, isolated DHA drops is hardly found in India. Though you may get DHA and multivitamin combination drops for your baby available in India like Vitabiotics Wellkid Baby & Infant, Twinlab Infant Care Multivitamin Drops with DHA and you should search for these products at the big reputed stockists in Chennai because chemists may not provide you these products. For sneezing and watery nose you may use zyrtec oral drops for your baby. Ideally it should be used as 2.5 mg once daily at bed time but maximally upto 5 mg daily can be used and this product will not puzzle you much because it will be available at the most chemist counters. If you have more queries you can send me. If you are satisfied with my answer you kindly write a review for me. Thank you, Regards, Dr Arnab Maji
