Hello XXXXXXX

I looked at the list of over the counter medications you've tried and all seem reasonable. I will suggest one more: a nasal corticosteroid spray such as Flonase. A steroid spray can help stabilize reactive nasal and sinus mucus membranes so that there is less sneezing and drainage down the throat. It doesn't work immediately - may take a few days of regular use for you to see a difference.

Another thing I'll suggest is increased rest so that your immune system can finish the job. Some extra sleep at night or naps during the day may help.

Adding a decongestant such as pseudoephedrine for a few days (taken only during the day as they can be stimulating) may help make you more comfortable too. This is non-prescription but kept behind the pharmacist's counter, so you have to ask for it. If it dries up the secretions, you may have less of your current symptoms.

If these don't help adequately and your discharge is discolored all day (not just after getting up) or if you develop fevers, then it's time to go in to the doctor to be seen.

I hope this information helps. Please let me know if I can provide further information.
