Question : Dear Doctor,
This question is for my friend who is 24 years old.
She has been suffering from cold and cough for one day. In the afternoon she had a temperature of around 101 degrees and which by the evening dropped to 99 degrees. Her general practician has prescribed wiporyl, zippy 200 mg.
Wanted to take a second opinion from you

Hello. The wiporyl is fine if this is just a cold.

Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXXXXX The wiporyl would be fine if this is just a cold but with the fever involved it may be a bacterial bronchitis. If her symptoms go beyond five days she needs to see the doctor again for a course of oral antibiotics.
