Ideally, a local doctor should examine and prescribe medications.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thank you for your query.
1. ideally you should be examined by a local doctor before starting any medication or at least inform your local doctor.
2. Routine treatment consists of an anti-histamine (such as cetirizine 10 mg or fexofenadine 120 mg once a day for 5 days), an anti inflammatory combination (such as paracetamol 325 mg and ibuprofen 400 mg two to three times a day for 3 days, after meals, provide you are not asthmatic). A medicated gargle (such as Betadine) will help.
3. If this does not respond in a couple of days, your doctor can re-examine and start antibiotics and other supportive medication.
4. If the fever persists, blood tests are advised.
I hope that I have answered your query. If you have any further questions, I will be available to answer them.
Regards.
