Question: My baby is one month old and suffering from cold. We are using saline water drop to clear his blocked nose however it does not help much. My baby can't sleep due to the blocked nose. Kindly suggest

I am sorry to hear that your child is suffering from cold. However, there is not much to worry about. You are doing the right thing in using saline nasal drops. I would insist you to use Zyrtec (Cetirizine) Drops 3 drops once daily for next few days. You may also give the child steam inhalation. Just sit with the baby on your lap and place the source of steam before you. The water vapour would be in the air and woudl automatically enter in the airways and would provide relief.

If the child is feeding well and is active, you need not worry. But if the child becomes lethargic you will have to take it to a doctor without delay.
