Brief Answer:
Possible diagnosis: Canker sores due to antibiotics

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thank You for trusting HealthcareMagic,

Canker sores are different from cold sores. Cold sores occur outside mouth around lips and is caused by viral infection while canker sores occur inside the mouth and are not contagious.

Canker sores are small sores in the mouth and tongue, appear white and surrounded by area of redness. Canker sores can be triggered by use of antibiotics.

Canker sores will heal without any treatment.

There are few things you can try to help relieve pain and faster healing:

-Avoid citrus fruits, juices. and carbonated sodas
-Avoid sugary gums, Lozenges etc
-Continue Peroxide rinse. You can also rinse mouth with over the counter antiseptic mouth wash.
-Include probiotic rich food like yogurt in diet
-Use over the counter anesthetic gels like Orajel for pain

You do not need to discontinue the antibiotic at this point. However, if the sores and pain are worsening, you develop painful swollen lymph nodes or the cold sores are not going away in next 10 days, consult your primary care provider/ dentist.

Hope I was able to answer your question
Please address any more concerns.

Brief Answer:
The cause of canker sore can be due to stress of underlying UTI

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thank You for following up,

Canker sores can be due to several reasons like stress, dietary changes, vitamin deficiencies, infections etc.

If the development of sores preceded starting of antibiotics, the underlying urinary infection may be the cause of canker sores.

Please be advised to follow the recommendations in above answer,
You can also supplement with multivitamins containing vitamin b complex and vitamin C to prevent recurrence.
